About ASOApp
ASOApp is an App Store Optimization platform designed for indie iOS developers. It helps developers research keywords, optimize metadata, analyze competitors, localize listings, and manage App Store growth workflows. This page explains who builds it and what it is trying to be.
Who builds it
ASOApp is built and operated by Felix Brix, trading as jungspree, a sole proprietorship registered in Berlin, Germany. Full legal details, including the postal address, are on the imprint.
It is a one-person project. There is no team, no investors and no sales department. That is relevant when you evaluate it: you get direct answers by email, and you should not expect enterprise support response times.

Why it exists
Every serious ASO platform is priced for companies that employ someone to do ASO. That pricing is rational — those tools carry years of historical data and real infrastructure. But it leaves out the developer who ships an app alone, has no marketing budget, and still needs to answer one question: which keywords can I actually win, and what should my listing say?
ASOApp answers that question and stops there. It is deliberately narrower than the platforms it is compared against, and it says so on its comparison page.
How it is built
- Frontend: Vue 3 single-page app.
- Backend: Django with Django REST Framework, SQLite.
- Data: Apple's public iTunes Search API and App Store autocomplete, queried per storefront. Where possible, requests go directly from your browser to Apple rather than through our server.
- Your data: tracked apps and keyword lists are stored in your browser's local storage. An account holds an email address and a synced copy of that same work — nothing else, and no payment details of any kind.
The data methodology page documents exactly how each score is computed. The security page covers data handling.
What ASOApp will not become
Stating this plainly is more useful than a roadmap full of maybes:
- No Android. The whole model is iOS-specific.
- No Apple Search Ads or paid-media tooling. That is a different discipline with different data sources.
- No paywalled core. Local-first storage stays the default, and every tool works in full on the free plan. What PRO (€9/month, €99/year) buys is scale, not capability: unlimited tracked apps and keywords, unlimited Discovery filters, saved competitors and audits, rank-drop alerts, daily summaries and CSV export. Four tools ask for a free account — rank tracking, competitor teardowns, the listing audit and App Discovery. The first three keep results between visits and need somewhere to keep them; App Discovery is where our whole indexed catalogue is handed back in bulk. The rest of the toolkit is staying open to anyone who lands on it.
- No agency or multi-seat tier. If you manage client portfolios, the paid platforms are built for you and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
Roadmap
Rough and honestly uncertain — this is a side project, and dates would be fiction. In current priority order:
- Screenshots and richer proof on the marketing pages so the product can be evaluated without opening it.
- Optional export of tracked keywords and rankings to CSV.
- Better localization tooling — surfacing which storefronts have unclaimed demand for a keyword you already rank for.
- Custom Product Page support — there is none today beyond drafting the copy.
- Optional server-side ranking history, which is the one feature that would plausibly justify a paid tier.
Shipped work is listed on the changelog.
