ASOApp Changelog
Everything notable that has shipped, newest first. This is a young project — the list starts in July 2026 and covers its whole history, not a selected highlight reel. Planned work is on the about page.
July 2026
31 July
- Shareable tool URLs. Every tool tab now has its own address, so you can link someone straight to Keyword Suggest or the Metadata Builder with the current feature state intact.
- Skeleton loaders that mirror each tool's result grid, so the layout no longer jumps while data loads.
29 July
- Daily digest fix — "new apps" is now based on apps you actually track, not on competitors surfaced during research.
28 July
- Server-rendered homepage content to fix a Google soft-404 on the client-rendered app.
- Performance: non-default views are lazy-loaded, cutting the initial mobile bundle.
- Accessibility: labelled the autocomplete and dialogs, fixed contrast issues, and removed layout shift on the Overview dashboard.
- Privacy policy expanded with GDPR legal bases, data-subject rights, transfer and controller information; the rating IP-hash is now disclosed.
- SPA caching fixed — the shell always revalidates while hashed assets cache for a year, so a deploy can no longer serve a stale bundle.
- Canonical host redirect (www to apex) and a production guard that refuses to boot with the development secret key.
- Deployment via Capistrano to Uberspace.
- Several tracking fixes: app-icon tooltips with App Store links, correct workspace scoping when adding a whole developer, and stale active-app selections dropped on load.
27 July
- Overview dashboard gained app ratings, categories, a recent-review distribution, negative-review sentiment, aggregate ratings across tracked storefronts, and a store-listing conversion checklist with screenshots.
- Rank chart: log dated metadata changes as markers, so you can see which edit moved which keyword.
- Server-backed rank tracking with a responsive navigation and a refined tracking table.
26 July
- Backend migrated from Flask to Django + DRF, with idiomatic DRF authentication and a consolidated API module.
- Daily summary email covering apps added, new opportunities and Launch Radar hits.
- Charts guide article and a track-your-app call to action on every article.
25 July
- Metadata Builder — title, subtitle and the 100-character keyword field with live counts, cross-field duplicate detection and an auto-fill packer.
- Competitor teardown — enter any App Store app to see the keywords it targets in its metadata and the rankings we have observed.
- Shareable keyword report pages plus a keyword hub, with a safety blocklist, link/domain guard and quality gate so nothing thin or offensive can be indexed.
- Keyword Suggest — real App Store autocomplete expanded across the alphabet, per country, with estimated daily searches.
- Active-app workspace — a header switcher and Overview dashboard that scope every tool to one app.
- First-run onboarding — add your app, then an optional skippable tour.
- Review mining — recurring complaints from recent negative reviews, in multiple languages, with real quotes.
- App Store top charts with click-through to a teardown.
- Two security hardening passes — fixed a keyword-page XSS, hardened the build, added gated HSTS, and stopped leaking upstream error detail.
- Sitemap rebuilt as an index with paginated keyword sub-sitemaps and
lastmod. - Third-party licenses page, linked from the imprint.
24 July
- Header, and the first SEO foundation: article system, sitemap,
robots.txt,llms.txt.
23 July
- Project started.
